Project Overview

Lexomatic is a legal workflow automation platform.

As part of Lexomatic's marketing and intake system, we architected and oversaw development of a WordPress plugin that embeds dynamic lead-generation and intake forms (built on Gravity Forms) and routes clean, structured data into the Lexomatic workflow automation engine for downstream processing and document generation.

We also provided code review services including manual testing to ensure features function correctly while following engineering best practices.

Scope

  • Architect and build the plugin foundation for long-term growth.
  • Migrate core functionality from a legacy plugin version and expand features and integrations.
  • Define the development workflow and ship an onboarding guide to keep the team aligned.
  • Set up CI/CD pipelines and GitHub workflows to protect quality and speed.
  • Provide ongoing code reviews and manual testing as the codebase scales.
Challenge

The Challenge

  • Integrate cleanly with multiple Gravity Forms add-ons without creating fragile coupling.
  • Establish a development and review process that improves quality without slowing velocity.
  • Keep the architecture scalable as the platform supports multiple SaaS businesses and evolving requirements.

  • The codebase is growing rapidly.
  • The team did not have a clear vision of the development and code review process initially.
  • To support various SaaS businesses, the development process needed to be flexible and scalable.

  1. Build the skeleton of the Lexomatic plugin and grow from there.

  2. Document the codebase itself while also providing a comprehensive guide on development process.

  3. Create CI/CD pipelines to ensure code quality.

  4. Human-driven code reviews to ensure the integrity of the codebase while building team consensus.
